1. Agreement to these Terms
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Services.
2. About Lucid Brokers
Lucid Brokers is a licensed independent life insurance brokerage. We provide an online tool that lets you compare quotes from third-party insurance carriers and submit applications for life insurance coverage. We are not an insurance carrier. We do not underwrite, issue, or service insurance policies. All policies you may apply for through our Services are issued by independent third-party carriers, who are solely responsible for underwriting decisions, policy issuance, premium collection, and claims handling.
3. No financial, legal, or tax advice
Information on the Site, including blog content, FAQs, calculators, and educational resources, is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, legal, accounting, investment, or tax advice. Life insurance is a major financial decision, and you should consult a qualified professional before purchasing a policy if you have questions about how it fits your individual circumstances. Lucid Brokers and its representatives are not acting as your fiduciary unless we have a separate written agreement that explicitly says otherwise.
4. Quotes are estimates, not binding offers
Quotes generated by our Site are illustrative estimates based on the information you provide and the rates published by our carrier partners. They are not binding offers of insurance. Final approval, pricing, and policy issuance depend on the carrier's underwriting process, which may include verification of the information you provide, a review of medical and prescription records, motor vehicle records, and other underwriting factors. Your final premium may differ from any quoted amount, and a carrier may decline to issue a policy.
5. Eligibility
To use the Services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your state, if higher);
- Be a U.S. resident located in a state where Lucid Brokers is licensed;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
- Provide accurate and complete information about yourself and any proposed insured;
- Not be prohibited from using the Services under any applicable law.
Lucid Brokers may refuse Service or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.
6. Accuracy of information you provide
You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information when using the Services. You are responsible for any misrepresentation. Carriers rely on your answers to underwrite policies, and providing inaccurate information may result in denial of an application, rescission of a policy, or denial of a claim. Material misrepresentation may also constitute insurance fraud under state law.
7. Carriers and platform partners
Quotes and applications presented through the Services are powered by our technology and application platform partner, BackNine Insurance and Financial Services, Inc., and the third-party insurance carriers we work with. Once you submit an application, your relationship for that policy is between you and the carrier. Lucid Brokers does not control carrier underwriting decisions, premium calculations, policy terms, or claims handling. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or policies of any carrier or platform partner.
8. Licensing
Lucid Brokers LLC is a licensed insurance producer. Life insurance coverage quoted or applied for through the Services is placed through BackNine Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. and its appointed carriers in the states where the issuing carrier is properly licensed. For current licensing information, please contact us at legal@lucidbrokers.com.
9. Intellectual property
The Site, including all text, graphics, logos, images, code, design, layout, and the "Lucid Brokers" name and brand, is owned by or licensed to Lucid Brokers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from any part of the Services without our prior written permission, except that you may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- Submit false, misleading, or stolen information;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with a person;

11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUCID BROKERS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. 12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUCID BROKERS, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. 13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lucid Brokers and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Services, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, or (d) any information you submit through the Services.
14. Dispute resolution and arbitration
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration provider, rather than in court, except that you may bring a claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. The arbitration will be conducted in the English language and seated in Denver, Colorado, unless the parties agree otherwise. You and Lucid Brokers each waive the right to a trial by jury and the right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@lucidbrokers.com within 30 days after first accepting these Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the arbitration provision above, any disputes not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Services.
